Our client from Zrenjanin, Simeon Eremin, was happy to share his experience with playing high school basketball in America.
It's interesting how, when we met Simeon, he wasn't in any club yet his incredible ambition and passion for basketball were the driving forces of this beautiful story. He was passionate about spending his senior year of high school in the USA so we helped him join a club, record his games, get ready physically and improve his English skills so he could achieve his goal.
We did it as a team, and now we get to enjoy Simeon's anecdotes from South Dakota. The result of our cooperation with Simeon and his family is that, as he says in the interview we hope you'll read until the end: “...we are not just business partners anymore, but friends...”
1. Could you tell us a bit about yourself?
Hello everyone, my name is Simeon Eremin. I come from Zrenjanin and I am currently playing basketball for the Freeman Academy in Freeman, South Dakota.
2. What does your average day in the USA look like?
An average day in my life starts at 7 am. I have school from 8 am until 3.40 pm. After school, I have an hour and a half long practice at 4.15. Then I go have dinner, do my homework, hang out and go to sleep.
3. That must require military discipline, hahaha… How hard is it to manage your schoolwork and practice?
Honestly, I can't say it's very difficult as basketball practice is always after school and it is very well organised so we have time for everything.
If there wasn't for the Head Coach agency, I would have never found myself playing sports in the USA. Okay, maybe not never as you never know what can happen but still, I am very thankful for them.

4. What are the training conditions like?
It all depends from one place to another and the sport you play, but generally, the USA has amazing training conditions. As far as basketball and other inside sports go, the halls and floors are incredible. They are always clean and the floor screeches just the way it's supposed to. The locker rooms are unbelievable. Everyone has their own locker. Everything is neat, clean and immaculate.
5. So you mentioned the locker rooms… We are all familiar with the scenes from American movies, but what's the atmosphere inside like?
The locker room atmosphere is quite interesting as there are people from all over the world. For example, I, a Serb, share a locker room with 3 guys from Congo, one Chinese guy, a lot of them from Guatemala and the rest from America. What's interesting is there are more foreign students in the team than Americans so there's this international energy present. Our coach is also there to hype us up before every game and practice which is very important too.
6. What's your opinion on the Head Coach agency?
Head Coach agency helped me significantly with finding and choosing the right school as well as with my basketball training and highlight videos. The guys, Uroš and Filip, did it all and honestly, I am so grateful for it. If it weren't for them, I would have probably never found myself playing sports in the USA. Okay, maybe not never, you never know what can happen, but still, I am very grateful for what they did. I am happy that Uroš, Filip and I are not only business partners, but also friends now.
