Our client from Novi Sad, Aleksa Morović, has talked to us about what studying and being an athlete at an American college looks like.
He chose Bethel College. He got a lot of help from his current trainer Luka Milićević, who could share with him his first-hand experiences with being a student-athlete.

1. Introduce yourself, and tell us more about you.
Hello, everyone! I’m Aleksa Morović, from Novi Sad. I’m currently a student at Bethel College, where I play soccer.
2. Why did you choose America?
Because it allows me to study and play soccer in a great environment, and it has generally been a good experience to spend time here.
3. How did your parents react to your decision to study in America?
They didn’t have anything against it. Of course, it was hard for them, but it was hard for me as well. But, they made an effort to make it possible for me and fully supported my decision.

4. Are you happy with your choice and how do you like it so far?
I think a sports scholarship programme was a good decision and that it’ll only get better. To be honest, it was very hard initially, but it only took me 2 months to feel way more comfortable living in the USA.
5. How helpful was the Head Coach agency?
The guys from the Head Coach agency have great connections and partnerships with American coaches. They presented all of the possibilities to me and managed to find something that fit my needs.
6. What advice would you give to young athletes that are thinking of going to the USA?
I’d definitely recommend that they try it. If nothing else, they’d have an experience they’ll remember for the rest of their lives. Worst case scenario, if they don’t like it, they can always come back.
