UNIVERSITIES

UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES (BACHELOR’S DEGREE) LASTS FOR FOUR YEARS

Universities offer a wide range of majors to choose from for your studies. Within the university, there is a campus that contains dormitories for students, classrooms, cafeterias, gyms and fields for all sports, lounges for studying and libraries, and much more.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Within the bigger universities in the United States, numerous faculties are covering various academic fields (economics, psychology, architecture, engineering, medicine, art, biology, etc.)

CONCENTRATION

There is also an "undecided" option in the first year of study. This means that it is not necessary to choose the concentration immediately in the first year, but it is possible to attend classes that are mandatory for all students and after the first year, to choose the major for your studies.

GRADING

At each university, there is a certain number of points (credits) that you have to collect to earn a degree. Each passed course carries a certain number of credits depending on how demanding it is. Grades are marked with letters (A, B, C, D, and F), from the best grade A to the worst grade F (failed).

DEGREE AND
SCHOLARSHIP

Universities, whether private or public, offer their students sports scholarships and enable them to obtain a prestigious degree that is recognized and valued worldwide. In addition to prestigious degrees, athletes are increasingly opting to go study in America because of sports development and the chance for a professional sports career after graduation.
In order for students to maintain their scholarship for 4 years, it is necessary to:

1. Maintain the minimum average appointed by the university
2. Actively engage in sports and represent the university in sports competitions

TERMS

One of the conditions for candidates who want to enroll in university is a high school diploma-4. degree of education.
The second condition is to take the following tests:

SAT Test

SAT is the most commonly used admission test at US universities. This exam must be taken by all students (domestic and international). The test consists of 3 parts:
– Critical Reading
– Math
– Writing

The maximum number of points on the SAT is 2400, and each of the above three
parts carries 800 points. Most questions have 4 answers offered except when it
comes to an essay and some of the math problems. The test lasts about 3 hours.
It is recommended to start preparing for this test at least 3 months in advance.
On the territory of Serbia, this test is available only in Belgrade. There are 6 slots
per year and the number of places is limited. If you are not satisfied with the test
results, you can apply in the next term and repeat the test. For this reason, we
recommend that you reserve your place for the test in advance.

TOEFL

This test is taken by all students whose first language is not English. This test is
used to assess active knowledge of the English language. The TOEFL test is a
condition for university enrollment for all international students. The whole test is
taken on a computer.

The test consists of 4 parts:
– Reading
– Listening
– Speaking
– Writing

The maximum number of points is 120, and each of the 4 parts carries 30 points.

one short break in the middle of the test. There are several slots per month for
taking the TOEFL test and it is available at several locations in Serbia:
-Novi Sad
-Belgrade
-Subotica
-Nis

ASSOCIATIONS

Sports at universities in America are divided into two main associations:

National Collegiate Athletic Association NCAA is the main university sports association in the USA. 1098 universities and colleges are part of the NCAA. As the oldest and largest organization, NCAA has distributed billions of dollars to its member institutions and promoted sports at universities for more than a century. NCAA consists of 3 divisions and includes 26 sports: Division I, Division II, Division III

Divisions I and II offer sports scholarships. Student-athletes must meet several academic requirements to maintain their sports scholarship. Sports Division I and Division II must retain (full-time student) status and have an average (GPA) of at least 2.0.

– National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics NAIA is a smaller association than NCAA. It has fewer members and a smaller scholarship budget but is the leading association immediately after NCAA. NAIA consists of over 250 universities and colleges and includes13 sports. The annual budget for sports scholarships is about $600 million. NAIA also consists of 3 divisions: Division I, Division II and Division III
