Simeon Eremin
Our client from Zrenjanin, Simeon Eremin, was happy to share his experience with playing high school basketball in America.
It's interesting how, when we met Simeon, he wasn't in any club yet his incredible ambition and passion for basketball were the driving forces of this beautiful story. He was passionate about spending his senior year of high school in the USA so we helped him join a club, record his games, get ready physically and improve his English skills so he could achieve his goal. We did it as a team, and now we get to enjoy Simeon's anecdotes from South Dakota. The result of our cooperation with Simeon and his family is that, as he says in the interview we hope you'll read until the end: “...we are not just business partners anymore, but friends...”

Saša Vuksanović
Sasa Vuksanovic from Novi Sad was willing to share his experience of studying and playing basketball in America.
Sasa went to America after accepting an offer for a sports scholarship to Prep academy, which helped him learn the language and get into the rhythm to be ready for College. He explained that it is not too difficult to reconcile sports obligations with studying because the professors have an understanding of athletes and there are always people who want to help. "They were available from the beginning, and they helped me to adjust to classes in a foreign language because my English was not the best. Sasa made the most of the conditions for sport in America to advance and now plays basketball professionally in Georgia.

Jennifer Callaghan
Jennifer Callaghan, who is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, told us how international students fit in when they come to America.
Jenny says that she loves meeting people from other countries, and this summer she even visited us in Serbia. ‘‘It’s important to step out of your comfort zone and experience new things, especially with people from different cultures and backgrounds’’ - that’s what Jenny is telling all candidates considering going to America through a sports scholarship. Being a student-athlete at NJIT is really awesome. It’s not a huge school so the athletic community is pretty tight-knit. A new athletic center and soccer field was built on campus within the past few years making it very nice using the new facilities.

Briana Hackos
We wanted to bring the experience of being a student-athlete in America even closer to the candidates who are thinking about going there through a sports scholarship, and that is why we talked to Briana Hackos.
Briana was born and has lived in America all her life. Before enrolling in college, she did not have the opportunity to meet people from Europe. Being a student-athlete is a challenging experience. I had to wake up early most days for training, then go to classes, and then return to my dorm to study with little spare time. Although I was the busiest, I've ever been, I would not trade my experience for anything because I made so many good memories. Read about her experience with students from Europe and useful tips for students that she shared with us.

Aleksandra was hesitant about going to America to study, but in the end, it turned out that it was her best decision and she says that she would not change that experience for anything. Below, read her experience at an American university and the tips she has to share with candidates considering sports scholarships.

Ana Popov
We talked to Ana Popov from Novi Sad, who graduated from college in America on a sports scholarship.
She made an effort to describe her experience of what it looks like to play sports and study at an American university to all candidates who are interested in this program. I would give the conditions for sports in America a rating of 9.5, so it's not exactly a 10. Ha-ha. I don't think it makes sense to compare the conditions for sports in Serbia with the conditions for sports in America, because that is a completely different dimension. When you are an athlete at one of the universities, you are provided with everything, from breakfast, through the gym and rehabilitation, to dinner and help with schooling.

We had the honor to talk to the Serbian national basketball team member - Maja Skoric.
Maja made her first basketball steps and achievements in the club "Proleter" from Novi Sad which, as she says, she is very proud of. She remained in Proleter until the age of eighteen, after which she continued her career abroad. She played for clubs from Hungary, Slovakia, and France. As she mentioned in the conversation, her career abroad brought her faster maturation, independence, as well as lifelong friendships. She tells our readers to set high goals, be persistent, and that in the end, all the effort will pay off. The proof that Skoric is led by this is the fact that she was always close to the national team, believed in herself, was persistent, and finally played her first big competition at the European Championship 2017.

Danijel Aleksić
It was a great honor for us to have the opportunity to talk to Danijel Aleksić, a football player from Turkish Basaksehir.
When he was only 16, he played against Red Star and thus became the youngest debutant in Serbian football. Danijel was 17 when he left Serbia to develop his career. His path was not easy, he fought for ten years to reach his goal and become a champion for the first time in his career. In the 2019/20 season, Basaksehir became the champion of Turkey for the first time in the history of the club, and Danijel had a great influence with 8 goals and 2 assists. We were interested in what Danijel has to say to young athletes who are thinking about going to America through a sports scholarship, considering that he left Serbia at a very young age and gave up many things to succeed and fulfill his goals.

Alen Tošić
Our client from Montenegro, Alen Tošić, decided to get to know the American life at Prep Academy before enrolling in college.
He signed a one-year contract with one of the best basketball academies in the US - Carolina Basketball Academy. Prep Academies are an excellent choice for students that want to adapt to the American lifestyle and education system before their studies, and better prepare for life on another continent. I opted for studying in the USA because it’s the only country that actively supports the student-athlete lifestyle, namely being able to study and play basketball at the same time. They should know that this is very demanding and it takes a lot of time, effort and sacrifices. If a person is ready for all that, as well as to go through new experiences completely alone.

Bojana Njagul
We talked to one of our clients, a soccer player that played for the Red Star women’s soccer team.
Bojana continued her academic and athletic career at Central Wyoming College. Unfortunately, she suffered a knee injury she had to get surgery for in the first season of the league. Still, Bojana remains positive and awaits her return to the field with anticipation. Going to America and studying there has always been my dream. I know some girls that studied in the USA because they’re athletes and they always talked about their experience like it was something special. The professors are great, they’ll provide help when needed and do everything they can to make things easier for you, so balancing school and sports isn’t that difficult. You can read about how much her teammates and friends helped her in the interview.

Aleksa Morović
Our client from Novi Sad, Aleksa Morović, has talked to us about what studying and being an athlete at an American college looks like.
He chose Bethel College. He got a lot of help from his current trainer Luka Milićević, who could share with him his first-hand experiences with being a student-athlete. The USA allowed me to study and play soccer in a great environment, and it has generally been a good experience to spend time here. I think a sports scholarship programme was a good decision and that it’ll only get better.

Predrag Ivanović
We had a chance to talk about studies in the USA and everything that comes along with them with a college soccer coach-Predrag Peca Ivanović.
He started his sports career in the club Mladost Goša, but after a few years of playing in Serbia, he decided to continue his soccer journey in America. He leaves for the University of Charleston in 2008. After a successful soccer career, he decides to stay on the field, but as a coach rather than a player. During his 10-year career as a coach, he helped many international players come to the USA.
